Community Farewell video - highlights of time in Swansea

The first phase of our programme is about to finish and tonight we had our Community Farewell party, hosted by Swansea Bay Asylum Seeker Support Group (SBASSG). The deputy lord mayor presented us with presents and certificates and we had speeches, thank yous and of course Team 94 performed a little something. Here's the video we showed of the highlights of our time in Swansea.

Also, this week has been Volunteer Action Week and GX team 94 have been very busy...On Saturday we ran a Community Action Day at Swansea Community Farm, on Monday we went to Swansea College to tell them all about GX, on Tuesday we went to a charity fair, on Wednesday we were invited to the Lord Mayor's Mansion for tea, cake and an award ceremony. On Thursday we ran a Community Action Day (CAD) in the evening - a free viewing of a film called 'Where the Water Meets the Sky'. This is an inspirational film made by women in rural Zambia about their lives and how HIV/AIDS has affected them all. Afterwards we held an open discussion about the film with members of the public.

Today we finished our volunteer placements, but it's not over yet in Swansea.....tomorrow is another CAD, helping run the Hard Rain exhibition, about climate change. And on Sunday we have ANOTHER CAD (!) at Down To Earth. Then our final Global Citizenship Day on Monday, our Debrief on Tuesday and Wednesday, then leaving Swansea early on Thursday. We'll be going to London for 1 night for some sightseeing before flying to Zambia on Friday.

So, another busy week for Team 94!!!!
